A handsome colt by rising star sire Sea The Moon, who offers an affordable route to the outstanding bloodlines of Sea The Stars and Monsun.

Sea The Moon was highly successful on the racecourse - winning the German Derby by 11 lengths. At stud, his first 2 crops have already delivered 18 black type performers across 5 European countries.

Our colt was sourced at the prestigeous Tattersalls Book 2 yearling sale in Newmarket and looks very well bought for just 42,000 GNS.

The dam, Nota Bene won several races in France at 12fl and as a broodmare has already produced a dual Listed placed (96 RPR) performer - but crucially, she now visits a much better sire in Sea The Moon.

There are high class genes top and bottom of the pedigree. Damsire, Slickly, was a top class multiple Group 1 winner in France over 8-10fl, with a long list of 100+ rated progeny in his career at stud, including 122-rated triple Group 1 winner Meandre.

Now named Cayman Moon, our colt inherits that potential and is bred to be a quality 3-y-o prospect. He has since done particularly well over the winter. This year, his 2-y-o season, will be about laying the foundations of his career.

Originally in the care of David Lanigan at state-of-the-art Rathmoy Stables in Newmarket, the lease on Rathmoy was recently taken over by Ed Dunlop's former assistant, William Knight.

William is delighted with Cayman Moon's progress so far. The colt is developing physically, filling out his frame and doing everything asked of him very nicely.

We will get to know a lot more about the colt as he is asked stiffer questions in the months ahead. With his profile, his 2-y-o debut is expected anytime from August onwards.

We like this colt a lot.

He is a most attractive, athletic individual, blessed with a very good sire and an excellent pedigree. He has a proven quality producing dam and is in very good hands.

A proper Newmarket trained 'Book 2' colt, he's an exciting prospect who with a pinch of good fortune has a great future ahead.
